Trade Defence

Established on April 1, 2016, the Trade Defence Wing (TDW), operates under the Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR). Initially known as the CVD Cells, the TDW is dedicated to safeguarding Indian domestic industries by providing a robust defense against the trade remedial measures imposed by other WTO members. Our mission is to ensure that Indian industries remain competitive and protected in the global market. The TDW focuses on meticulously following established procedures to defend Indian domestic industry against trade remedy actions initiated by foreign nations. Our aim is to uphold their interests and contributing to their sustainable growth. We actively engage and participate in trade remedy investigations initiated by WTO members against Indian domestic industries and provide support and guidance to our domestic industries in challenging unjust trade remedial measures. By taking a proactive approach, the TDW works to prevent damage to domestic industries, ensuring a level playing field in international trade.
